I have never used medit now when I tried it crashes when clicking on print or
Ctrl-p giving segmentation fault. Version 0.9.4 in my VL6 box.

It does not crash in VL7 version 0.10.4, however, if I open this version in VL6
it again crashes when trying to print.

Any suggestion?

Can't say I often print from Medit, but I just tried from VL6.0 Light. My printer is a Brother mono laser, which hangs off my Amahi server, shared as a Samba printer. No problem printing here. Well, apart from the fact that the printer (and Cups) is set for A4 paper, but it looks as though Medit is calibrated for Letter.

I'm a bit surprised that 0.10.4 runs under VL6.0 at all. Even when I updated cmake for VL6.0, I still couldn't get anything later than 0.94 to build under VL6.0.

Any suggestion?

What printer are you using, and how is it configured?

Paul.

I'm willing to bet this is related to gnomeprintui or gnomeprintcups

I will not challenge your bet so we leave it that way since I will not remove those programs
and I am happy with gedit.

My printers are an Epson LQ300 and a Brother DCP-385C both connected to an USB port.

When I used medit 0.10.4 in VL6 I opened /mnt /VL7/usr/bin/medit.

for me the example works in Puppy 4.12.
I attach the project.
Extract it in the project folder ugg stiefel, and open it in the Valaide.

Or compile main.gs by hand:

Maybe you added something, or there was an error caused by copy&paste from your webbrowser.
I had encountered this in the ugg, maybe webbrowsers add different linefeeds or whatever.

I use
gtksourceview-2.4.2.pet
valide-0.4-1-i686-svn-2009-03-27.pet
I run the vala-IDE by typing "validestart", or from the menu: "Valide -Puppy4"

I got it to print now:

File > Page Setup > Paper size, change from A4 to US Letter, > Apply

After that medit will print w/o crashing. The setting to US Letter is not stored and reverts back
to A4 at each new opening of medit.
