its really strange when i edit the iso packages and config files to make the iso lighter and more customized, it installs fine but always fails on the lilo install saying it cant find the kernel
Quote
cannot find kernel (vmlinux) aborting lilo install
any hints on why this might be? i moved some main packages into the required folder and edited setup.conf accordingly and also for PACKAGES.txt i removed what i know for ill never select during an install...even with these minor changes the full install just bombs out =\

Possibility: Perhaps the install routine should reference 'vmlinuz' instead? I don't really know, but generally the kernel is referred to in this way.

Hard to say what changes may have caused this. Does it work to boot off the CD, edit the startup options to point to the hard drive and then install LILO from there?

ok so after some trial and error i found it only happens when i start shifting things around in the veclinux folder of the iso which is the optional/required packages reading from setup.conf
i can remove and comment out but you cant move an optional package and make it a required, the install will bomb out....really strange why that happens
