I have to make a correction to my statement that one does not need to
mount other partitions with vliloconf. That is only valid when all have the
same HD designation of either hd?? or sd??. If for example one has installed
VL-7 which goes with sd?? and one is in VL-6 which goes with hd? vliloconf fails.
In this case one has to create a directory lets say VL7 (mkdir /mnt/VL7) mount it,
make the necessary editing in fstab and edit lilo.conf. In the setion for VL7 change root = /dev/hd?? to
root = /mnt/VL7/dev/sd??. Then do lilo from the command line. I always do first
lilo -t -v, the t flag for test. Guess that will make GrannyGeek happy.
May be the maker of vliloconf can crack that nut.
