Check it out here http://www.opensourcebistro.com/catalog/

The Multimedia bonus disk has returned, just in time for Christmas.  The number of applications included are to long to list here but are detailed on the website provided.

What's new and exciting....well.
1. The installer is now Slapt-get based and all packages comply with Vectorlinux standard.
2. The installer is written in Python and really a gorgeous piece of work. (Thanks to m0e_lnx)
3. For the adventurous and those with plenty of free time on their hands the source code is available. (1 dollar charge to cover distribution)
4. 33% of every full disk sold goes back to support Vectorlinux.
5. Purchase of the full disk also entitles you to 4 additional downloads so you can download updates each quarter. (expires after one year or downloads are used.) also...(Since VL7.0 is alpha I've set it up that 6 additional downloads are provided.

Please let me know what you think.  Remember, I'm sensitive Grin.  No, go ahead make like Simon Cowell and let me know what you really think.

VLC version 1.1.4.  and thanks.
edit as of Dec 14th, 2010
I've upgraded VLC to version 1.15 and uploaded the new MMBDvlstd7.0.  Anyone who owned the previous version can use their additional downloads to get the updated version.  Also, dvdstyler was added on to the disk.

I tried on VL6.0, but a number of it's core dependencies are not just too far behind.  Not to worry, VL7.0 standard doesn't look like it has to far to go before it is release ready.

Thanks Dweeberkitty.  Feel free to drop me a line with any ideas you might have. Always good to get advice from somebody who's 'been there and done that'.

Timidity on the MMBD for VL6.0 soho or VL7.0 Std
Thought I'd make some tutorials for each of the applications on the MMBD.  Just enough info for people to understand what the application is for and how to get started.  This first one is for Timidity, the midi player and wav converter.
The build of Timidity that is on the MMBD has a couple extras, one it installs sound patch files and set's up the timidity.conf file for them, it also set's up a second launcher in the accessories menu for lauching timidity as a midi backend converter for other programs to use.

Just discovered a bug in the MMBD-Soho install...
If you installed the MMBD on a fresh install of Soho the disk will upgrade your version of slapt-get for you inorder for slapt-get to be able to handle .txz files.
Inadvertantly this causes GSlapt to fail since it also needs to be upgraded.
Here is the fix
As root in the terminal....
slapt-get -update
slapt-get -install gslapt-0.5.3c-i586-1vl60

If you had already upgraded your gslapt before the installation of the MMBD the problem will not occur.  Only on fresh installs using the original version of slapt-get.
