Minolta PagePro 1400w
« on: December 31, 2011, 04:07:24 am »

I have used both cups and the print program to try and install the drivers for this printer and have been unable to so.  I even provided the PPD file.  What do I need to do? Very pleased with Vector so far, just can't print.

Thanks

More information on the printer.

Have you had this working in Linux?

What distribution if it did work?

Connection type for the printer?

Yes,  It worked with fusion 14, fedora 16, Toorox, Pardus, PUIAS, Asturix, Sidux, Mint Debian ... I'm sure that there are few more that I've forgotten.

it is a usb connection.

I have downloaded the tar.gz file from http://hinterbergen.de/mala/min12xxw/  and then ran ./configure, make, make install and make clean all to no avail.

Still need more information.

Did you have to build this program for the distributions you mentioned?

Did you read the README to do the installation. It is possible that the
./configure path is wrong. There is mention in the README that there
is a ppd for cups.

The place to start would be to check the install path to make sure it is
correct since Fedora and Debian use different install paths.

If you mean run the ./configure command etc. the answer is sometimes.

I did read the README file

the ppd for cups did not work.

Not really sure what you mean by checking the install path?  I open the terminal where I downloaded the file otherwise ./config won't work.
