Cannot install Nvidia driver.
« on: December 09, 2010, 04:51:17 pm »

When I try to run the vlnvidia installer, I receive a message saying the kernel-source is not installed. When I try to find it in Gslapt, it does not show up. Any ideas?
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!

Slackin' since '93.

By default, all types of kernel packages are locked out of GSlapt. Take a look around if you're running VL 6. No idea where they're located for 7 or 6soho.

I don't know much about the vlnvidia package, but for me the closed-source nvidia drivers work great:

You should be able to find the kernel source on your install media (cd, iso, etc).
