Another returnee-
« on: February 03, 2011, 05:52:09 am »

Hello again all. I had tried VL before, I think it was around three years ago or thereabouts. An old laptop brought me back, after trying Puppy and other minimalist distros for it. VL Light beats them all hands down. Performance is great, and your repos have everything I need without having to compile from source. It's exactly what I needed for this old hunk o' junk.

If anyone is interested, it's a Gateway Solo 1200 with 128Mb ram (16 reserved for graphics) running at 800Mhz. Thanks to your excellent forum, I was able to quickly find answers for the few issues I had (mostly wireless and icewm customization.) I'm enjoying it so much, I will probably adopt it for my primary desktop machine. With a whopping 256Mb ram on it (also a salvage job) VL Light should really fly-

Hi and welcome.
I used to run Vector on Dell Dimension with 128 Mb of RAM(later upgraded to 256) and a 333 MHz CPU. It wasn't exactly flying(I don't think they even had airplanes in the days when it was build), but I could use it ;)
