Hi. can't seem to find the md5sum of VL 6.0 standard. ..  so i cannot compare it to the one i downloaded ..

i have succesfully installed VL6.0 on my desktop (together with other and recently used 5.8 and Sw12.0) install successful but upon booting (i have included 6.0 in my 5.8's lilo) it just stops on a point where in it says:

VFS: Mounting /dev/hdc12 read only.. etc..
"Freeing unused kernel memory..212k freed"

i am not sure if this is a mem failure (though all of my linux boxes runs properly)

OR i just got screwed by my downloaded distro Sad

EDIT :

ok so i have checked the md5sum . .and it's good.

http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-6.0/iso-release/VL6.0-STD-Gold.iso.md5.txt

is matched with :

me@slackerz:/mnt/winback/DOWNLOADS$ md5sum VL6.0-STD-Gold.iso
d132ad563da5bdab2a65b04fb6aa3b83  VL6.0-STD-Gold.iso

ok.. so i have installed this on the 4th time. .but seems still does not work

btw, i did not installed LILO since I added this on my existing one. .

Your request  was posted Feb 5th ~  Did you solve the problem  or still wish guidance ?

The  install while it  seemed  OK - ( bootup started) stalled  - @ that point, was there any other messages

Do you have another Linux (even  liveCD) which can be used to mount & access content of hdc12

BTW - There are many specific free "rescue" utilities on the Web to  do just that
If you still want - can supply a list  &/or
 > willing to  work *with*   you to succeed toward  using Vector

(Four attempts - IMNSHO _ many would just give up -  & look elsewhere)
Sad to note : - while it's fun'n games to work out bugs in new releases_
New users are apt to feel unwelcome when a basic request for assistance recieves
NO reply whatsoever
