Hi,

If I su to root and do 'crontab -e', root crontab comes up in vi. If I edit that file and save, vi says changes were written to crontab blah blah, do 'crontab -e' again and my changes have vanished-it's the original crontab with out any of the changes again? How do i edit the root crontab?

Solution: I have no idea why vi/vim is not saving any changes to the root crontab file when invoked with 'crontab -e'? Started thunar as root and edited /var/spool/cron/crontab/root with medit and saved.

I have the same problem ever since I moved from VL4.8 to VL6 both for
root and user. I am using mcedit.
