linux "test suite"

Is there a test suite or such for, say, a base linux or base+X?

There should be "System profiler and benchmarks" (hardinfo) on your menu under "System".

Beyond that.. I have not used any of these, but they look heavy duty:

Heavy-duty's what I'm looking for.
I'd heard of Phoronix, but had forgotten about it. Bookmarked it and the LTP, which I wasn't aware of.
If one of these doesn't do it, I'll change my mind about wanting it done.

Plse excuse the    interjection. ~ while such undertakings  may @ 1st_blush seem usefull_
 it might be well to re-assess why such a test is desired

Especially if used to pre-judge/compare Distros

Phoronix  etal, employs strict standards to compare PRESENT   known DEMI-equivalent platforms
   
Vs ~  Any such "HOME" user attempts to assess  benchmark... destined to be  inconclusive at best

( ALL are dependent on hardware platform,  user's ability to enable any optimizations)

I.E. To start, who decides what constitutes a "base" X-stystem
 
IMHO,  That is akin to help request replies "qualified"  only by  subjective > "well,  it works on my install"
ONE viewpoint only, why or how any uses own system ~ is at their pleasure
