New Package Requests

I created this topic mostly out of frustration. Our distro gets glowing reviews on every count but one the package repository and the lack there of. I would like to correct the situation  with a blatant please tell us what we are missing big or small. In other words why would you use a really bloated distro just because it has some program or utility we havent packaged. The source if gpl is there and freely available to all distros. This is the place to ask and we will do our best to make a package for you and the rest of the community. Please don't be shy!

In addition to meeting package requests and beefing up the repos, maybe we need to make it better known all the repositories that are available for us VL users to tap into (ours, LP, etc.) as well as the compilation tools included by default.

I will work on a "getting software for VL" document that can be included in our literature; I read almost every review of VL, and it seems a lot of them are less than fully aware of the greatness of the distro...though that is changing with time

To add to vector's initial post, if you know the home page for the source of the package you would like to see in the repo, it would be helpful to include it in your request. ;-)

Please start a new topic for each package request and the related discussion. That way, it will be easier for our packagers to see the requests. ;-)
