I'm trying to install VL on an external hard drive.
When I enter Boot Options and click on CD it goes straight to "c" drive , how do I alter this without altering my BIOS?

Depending on your BIOS you may need to press some key (or key combination) right before your bootloader appears.

Another option would be to go into your bios and set the boot order to boot CD's first and hard disks later.
