CR-48 User Looking for New Distro
« on: June 03, 2011, 06:09:54 pm »
I've been 'here' off and on... mostly off, since 2004. Way way back when vector was at 4.6.

I have a Cr-48. I flashed the bios so I could do whatever I like with it. I'm going to see how Vector runs on the thing.

I'll keep everyone posted on the results.

Welcome! I also have a Cr-48 and will be very interested in your progress.
The following sentence is true. The previous sentence is false.

VL 6.0 SOHO KDE-Classic on 2.3 Ghz Dual-core AMD with 3 Gigs of RAM

Well, had to turn off efi boot but VL6 is sitting pretty. However I"m wanting to try 7 since it's supposed to have features to help with a SSD. That is the main reason I haven't really tried getting sound working (everything acts like it works... but no sound comes out.)

...that and in spite of a respectible glxgears reading, attempting to run what I want to run is hurky jurky slow.

Anyone know how to get unetbootin working? I'm going tomorrow to a higher bandwidth location to grab the appropriate ISO and I want to try installing it there, rather than shuttle it back here and wait a few more days before I can get updates and whatever.
