Should I have to? Wouldn't the slack-required pill it?

Did u have this 3 installed?

gnome-desktop >= 2.32.1
gst-plugins-base >= 0.10.35
gstreamer >= 0.10.35

gstreamer 0.10.35 (yes)
gst-plugins-base (yes)
gnome-desktop >= 2.32.1 >= 0.10.35 (yes)

Yes on all counts.  So I installed gst-plugins-good, tryed again same problem.
Then I installed gst-plugins-ugly.
This worked and the error message went away.

Now if I can get it to like my webcam.

Yup it works now.  gst-plugins-ugly did the trick. Maybe add that to the dep list in slack-required.   It's more picky about webcams than wxcam though.  Works fine with my philips webcam but dislikes the logitech.
