Just installed A2, have the same problems as hata_ph's 2 and 3:
>2. WICD still not working
>3. cannot reboot/shutdown from xfce

I checked /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc and the repositories enabled are the same as with 32 bit version. Tried installing a package, but it didn't run(as expected). Is there a separate repo for the 64 bit version?

Also running on a2.3

1. Can confirm... cannot auto-mount CD/DVD and pendrive

2. Does not seem to be any modules for my wireless adapter.
lspci shows it as...
lspci | grep Network
03:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9287 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)

Found some instruction to install it myself so take the next bit for what it is worth...
Downloaded compat-wireless-3.0-2.tar.bz2. Decompressed and did make and got the following error...
Code:
ken:$ make
/home/ken/compat-wireless-3.0-2/config.mk:212: "WARNING: CONFIG_CFG80211_WEXT will be deactivated or not working because kernel was compiled with CONFIG_WIRELESS_EXT=n. Tools using wext interface like iwconfig will not work. To activate it build your kernel e.g. with CONFIG_LIBIPW=m."
./scripts/gen-compat-autoconf.sh config.mk > include/linux/compat_autoconf.h
make -C /lib/modules/3.0.4/build M=/home/ken/compat-wireless-3.0-2 modules
make: *** /lib/modules/3.0.4/build: No such file or directory.  Stop.
make: *** [modules] Error 2

3. gslapt will not start from menu. ktsuss can not run command. Command not found.
(gslapt command is not found in terminal as root either.)

4. Avahi-daemon is running but Thunar does not offer "Network" in the side pane.

5. vasm will not start. Failed to run /sbin/vasm --super-vasm as user root.
The gksu-run-helper command was not found or is not executable.
(This is also true for "root-terminal" in the accessories menu and vcpufreq in the system menu.

6. gkrellm shows I have 5408mb of free memory...nice. Grin
gkrellm is not in the menu. True for 32bit as well I believe.

7. "Disk Utility" under system menu does not start.

Tested 2.6,
looks like the automount of usb drives and stuff are working, most awesome.

System Clock is getting set back about 4 to 5 hours. Using EST (or Eastern New York). This happens after the setup of the video reboot. So from setup of video to reboot, somehow the clock is getting kicked back. GUI installer was used. Clock is not affected until (after) that video setup stage.

I think when we tackle the system clock issue, this is almost ready to go... at least for me Smiley

Update:
I have discovered the shutdown bootsplash is not working. Get the text screen with the action text overlapping the regular text in the upper left hand,, and it overlaps itself. I'll have to peek at the rc scripts.

orage: error while loading shared libraries: libical.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Corrected some typos and information above for more accuracy. I'll keep posting as I find things.

Running on a2.7

This is moving forward nicely, most issues addressed.

Some notes...
-My wireless adapter AR9287 Wireless still not supported (is supported in vl 32bit)
-When I install 64bit installs fine, but Grub can no longer launch the 32 bit install on the other partition I get ...
Code:
[Linux-bzimage, setup=0x3000, size=0x50a2c0]
error: unrecognized number
error: you need to load the kernel first
I can run vliloconf on the newly installed 64 bit to get access to the partition back, so I assume if I choose lilo during install I wouldn't have the same problem.

-UFW firewall not included (maybe you have plans for another firewall.

what modules are loaded for your wireless in 32bit?
are the same ones loaded in 64bit?

ufw is on the iso I will look to see why its not being installed.

You might have knocked out the issue in the latest iso, but I've managed to correct the on-boot error from hwclock here.

What I did was `cp -a /dev/rtc0 /tmp/rtc` while the system is up and running with udev going. This grabs a copy of the rtc that has the proper working major, minor numbers of 254,0. I then reboot to another system and mount the partition that my64bit is on. Another cp -a to restore rtc from tmp: `cp -a /mnt/my64bit/tmp/rtc /mnt/my64bit/dev/rtc`. This can only be done while booted to another system, so that udev doesn't think this file "belongs" to it. Otherwise it seems udev will reset it to the original non-working 165,3.

Confirming the time bug is fixed.
Confirming Orage is now working properly.

Right click on an image and selecting to open with Shotwell Photo Viewer does nothing. This also seems to be set as default image viewer. I'll try to get terminal output on this for you later. Meantime opening with Geegie works ok.

The terminal window during video setup seems to have a crack in it. That is off center from where it used to be, and also new text cuts into the blue background. Just a visual thing.

Shutdown splash screen is missing and the scrolling text screen has the splash text overlapping the scrolling text in the upper left of screen and overlapping itself

Cairo-Dock is a pita, pops up over windows when you need the bottom scroll or something near the Dock ...  lol.  Grin

There was something else an app issue, but give me another day here to finish reorganizing things here and I'll get back to it.

P.S.
Please remind me in irc (anyone) to check package for missing new menu icon. I only notice it missing on a completely fresh installation. And also to fix a background flaw in the face theme, add to new package. I get wrapped up in things and keep forgetting those. Thanks in advance.
