Granny - Many years ago when I first got involved with Linux and VL  you were always there to help and guide me.  If I did not then tell you how much I appreciated your time and effort let me say thank you now.  I pray you will conquer and remain with VL for many many years to come.

There is a something undervalued, misunderstood, and out of proportion about what the real world perceives about the relationships that are formed online.  Granny was with Vectorlinux for years, when she wanted Tuxcards included in the default iso, vec made sure tuxcards was included in the default iso.  She was smart, she was to the point, and she was a friend to many who called Vectorlinux home.   I think I speak for everyone who know her when I say she will be missed.

A new user to the forum CMAR606 knew her and related this very sad news.

I knew GG also known as " JUDY M. " on the CompuServe Linux forums I am very active on and she was always on there giving good advice I do miss her she was a riot and fought back if she thought you were not correct on something about Linux or an app. She was a good ol' gal!

here is her Obituary.. I had to look it up

Thanks for that Christopher. Just realised from that that I knew her from somewhere else.

I was a big WordStar user in my pre-Linux days and she wrote a free users' guide for WordStar for Windows (I used the next to last DOS version, 7.0c, but I was aware of her contribution).

Small world.

Very sorry to hear about GrannyGeek....I had been wondering about her for quite some time.  I knew she had cancer,...but thought maybe she was too caught up in the chemo treatments to post.
I myself, just underwent the surgeries and 6 months of chemo, and know how rough it can be.  Fortunately, my last scan shows that I am in remission.  And unfortunately, it looks like GrannyGeek did not win her battle against the beast.

Granny's presence here had been really missed, but knowing it is now permanent, leaves a big hole in the Forum as well as in our lives.

And reading the obituary shows that she was a truely remarkable and interesting person.  Our lives were richer because of her.
