nightflier thanks that worked when I managed to find
the right sda1 and not the sda1 that seems virtual?
su: Authentication failure
You are working as root
Frequently used programs:
Configuration : vasm
Package manager: slapt-get, pkg
Network tools : ifconfig, host, ping, nmap, iptables
File manager : mc (press F2 for useful menu)
Editor : mcedit, nano, vi
Multimedia : alsamixer, play
hata_ph I must have misled you. I trust what you write
do work under other circumstances but I do a frugal install.
I did open up the iso and placed boot on sda2 and VL7.0.....
directory also on sda2 and the menu.lst for debian is on sda1
and both are linux partitions but due to me being VL or vl
and not root and not a real user but a "Live Session User"
it seems there are one sda1 that is virtual and one that is real?
If I try to write to the virtual one it looks real but refuse to save
and tell the path to the real sda1 that do save.
So now I will test if it is possible to write to the sda2 too. I failed
it says that sda2 is read only so it can not be changed.
May I ask something that can be sensitive. I manage to work with
both Parted Magic OS, CDLinux OS and Porteus OS and all of them
are varieties of Slax.
Should I trust then that Vector is real Slackware and that Slax is
too allowing for the taste of a Slackware Developer so that Slackware
is more keen on permissions and such? Why else all these problems?
