Vector 7 Live CD wants login?
« on: December 13, 2011, 05:20:09 am »
I booted up the Vector 7 Live CD and its saying that I don't has GDM and others and it can't use the GUI and one needs to be installed.... goes to login. Why? This is supposed to be a live CD that just boots up?

How do you get it to work? I've used many live CDs and none have done this.

Something went wrong along the way.

You may be able to get it working by logging in with username "root" and a blank password (just press enter). Once in, run command "vxconf", then "startx".

... ok I used root and no password but when I ran vxconf I get:

can not create temporary file, and it can't read the startx command. Maybe its a bad burn. I burn another one and try again some time.

For now I'll go back to Mint...

Hallo,

i also get an error while trying to boot Vector Linux 7.0 Live. I checked the md5sum code and it was ok. But the message show something like this:

Code: [Select]
/usr/lib/libxcb.so.1 input/output error
Logging in with user account went fine but i cant start the X environment via startx command.

Maybe i missed something.

greetings and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
