Hi, Haven't used Vector for a long time.  I am really liking this new version.  I am not entirely pleased with the Fluxbox setup however.  Would it be possible to get something like Volumeicon, Volwheel, or some other volume management package for the panel?

Also, I really like to use Nitrogen.  Any chance of that coming to the repositories?  Anypaper http://anypaper.sourceforge.net/ works ok too.

If they are already in there I missed it so apologies.

Sorry, posted to soon.  Anypaper, built easy enough but it is a front end for wallpapersetter and I can't find anything on that.
Well only this and it seems only to be for windows.

Can you point me to a opensourced & Linux wallpapersetter?

Sounds like it acts as a front end to "any" or "many" wall paper setters. I guess pcmanfm, fbsetroot, fbsetbg, esetroot, feh, etc.

Well, if it works with many (any) I'll upload the build to testing and LaCoste will have to change the default config to use ours.  If he can then let me know how he did that I can see if I can get it into the build.

I think this is correct.  The following is from the Crunchbang forum:

"Just thought id post up a little GUI for background management if anyone else enjoys fbsetroot/fbsetbg

[edit] Install anypaper

and then go to the configuration tab and set the command as fbsetbg and your set. now you have a integrated nitrogen alternative."

If anyone wants to get a volume icon in the Fluxbox panel here is what I did (if this is wrong somebody please let me know because I haven't worked with Slackware a lot):

1. Download the Volumeicon source file from SlackBuilds.org.  Here is the link to the file > http://softwarebakery.com/maato/files/volumeicon/volumeicon-0.4.3.tar.gz

2.  Open your Download folder, right-click and select "open terminal here".

3.  Type this in the terminal without the quotes, "./configure --prefix=/usr"

4.  Type this in the terminal without the quotes, "make"

5.  Type this in the terminal without the quotes, "su root" and then enter you root password.

6.  Type this in the terminal without the quotes, "make install"

7.  Go to your .fluxbox startup file and add this to it:

## Start volumeicon
volumeicon &

8.  That's it!

volumeicon-0.4.3 has been added to the repo.
Give it a minute to hit all servers and it should be available in gslapt.
P.S, I have not tested either so let me know how it goes.

Thanks for doing that!  I added a testing repository from the list in gslapt but I still don't see anything that you added.  Do I need to add a different repository?

Just a note, as mentioned in a previous post, you need to install something like esetroot to get transparency working with Anypaper.

I actually put them in the extra repository so that they could be found without adding another repository.
You can browse the extra/xap repo here...
http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-7.0/extra/xap/

You will have to update gslapt or run slapt-get --update from the command line to see them.
