You could use q4wine.
q4wine makes is a little easier to assign you cd drive to be recognized by the wine configuration.

Should it be installed on top of wine OR uninstall wine and then install qt4wine ??

Installed q4wine on top of wine since wine was listed as a dependancy.

STAND BY TESTING.

Sorry, late getting back to you.  yes you can install q4wine on top of wine.
You'll find q4wine in the "Settings" category in the menu.
Click the Set-up tab and Select "Update Fake Drive"
If there are any wine processes running from an attempt to previously start the game, you may need to reboot, or at least identify and kill those processes before you will be able to start "Update Fake Drive"

After clicking "Update Fake Drive" click on File System arrow then "Wine Drives"
then click "Add"
Use the browse function in the resulting window to find your cd (usually /media/nameofgame/ )
Select the directory that contains the executable.
Click Ok all the way through to make the selection.

Hope that works.
