We have xPlanet in the repositories.  Pretty much the same idea.  Just don't try using it in xfce4 (or Xearth for that matter).  Xfce4 will not let you see the root window, xfdesktop covers it up.

That is correct.  I built a snazzy interface for Xearth a while back that pulls spots from a DEX packet cluster and posts them to the world map, centering on each spot as it comes in.  I guess I'll have to do the same in Xplanet.  Thanks.
