I have been trying out the new KDE 4.8 on VL7 Standard and have come up against a few weird "happenings". I mention them here in case someone else has seen these, and/or has a clue... Grin

1- On every login, 2 launchers show up again on the left side of the panel, even though I remove them each time: 1 for dolphin and 1 for midori.
2- setting the panel to auto-hide does nothing.
3- trying to mount external ntfs drives in the device manager or in dolphin fails.

I think I have tackled problem #3 before, but I can' t for the life of me remember what to do about it now... Huh

EDIT: hmm... problem #2 has gone away by itself, maybe due to the latest package updates, or perhaps I didn't re-test after the first reboot... Smiley

For the 1st issue, did u enable restore last session on startup in the kde config?
you can check that under system setting -> startup and shutdown...

Dang!!! I had that setting off before in our previous KDE version, so I never even thought to check it... Embarrassed

Thanks for the reminder, hata_ph...

EDIT: no good, after another logout/login, they were back again... Angry

Hold on, I've been away working on some other stuff. I think it may all be related to some permissions problems in the .kde things in my home dir. I'll get back to you when I finally get a chance to look into it.
