swap size(solved)
« on: February 20, 2012, 04:35:14 am »
Hey everyone, I have a question about swap size, I am about to reinstall vector today because i never set up my home folder correctly(i want it bigger as i dl alot of movies and it's a hassle to mount my other partition  all the time) and i want to know if there would be any advantage to me having a swap file larger than twice my ram, i have a p3 sony vaio, with 512mb of ram, like if i make it 3x the size of my ram instead of two, will there be any difference or noticeable improvement ?

Increasing swap that much would not noticably improve performance. I'd say keep it at 2x.

I agree with nightflier you will not likely see performance improvement.
