Help with MythTV, please.

Does anyone out there know how to install mythTV in Vector Linux 7.0?

I have build mythtv-0.24.0 for VL7. You can install it via gslapt or slapt-get

slapt-get --install mythtv

Once installed it you have to start mysql at startup, you can configure that via VASM.
The add the mythtv database by running below command

mysql -u root < /usr/share/mythtv/database/mc.sql

Run mythtv-setup to configure mythtv

hata_ph, I got by my initial problem I discussed with you on the irc channel.    Mythtv starts up and I am able to make changes to the General Settings. (None are really needed, default is good)
but when I go to the next step capture card setup, my capture card is not detected.

I have the following, as detected by lspci
03:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16 (CX23416) MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)

I'm thinking the problem is not in mythtv, but I did some of the testing from this page and it seams to indicate that something is not fully functional in the ivtv driver or for some reason the ivtv driver is not being picked up by /dev/ and assigning a video1 or video2 file.

So to summarize lspci does show my card as ...
03:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16 (CX23416) MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)

I can modprobe ivtv

but when I run
dmesg | grep ivtv | grep 'video' | grep 'MPEG'

I get nothing.

I think this may be why Locate may have been having trouble all along, even with tvtime.

I am not sure as I do not have a TV card...do VL7 recognize your card?

My TV tuner is a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR1950, ant it plugs into a USB port.
