For the first time in i dont knwo when, i have computer resources to burn. But im hard at work looking for a way to remedy that. When linux was my job i used to use root-tail to tail log files to the root window, fluxbox works nicely with it. Since i now have a pentium dual core with 4 gigs of ram, i decided instead of root-tail i would try
Quote
/usr/libexec/xscreensaver/starwars -program 'tail -f /var/log/messages' -root
Try it, its a hoot Smiley

If you have fortune installed and you run this
Quote
fortune startrek|xargs logger message
you will always have somethng to read when things are slow Smiley

Oops! i dont think you actually need the "message" after logger, Works either way tho.
