FreeBSD 9.0 kernel.
« on: May 22, 2012, 03:53:10 am »

This may sound like a pretty far out stretch,
however, Gnu/... Squeeze from another distro combined the Gnu desktop
with the FreeBSD kernel. Since BSD and Slackware share some similarities, even though
they possess a completely different kernel, why not?

Might Vector, some day, squeeze this interesting hybrid project in their workshop?

Imagine Vector on the FreeBSD kernel like Gentoo or Debian?

It may sound far fetched out to some, yet I don't think it is out of keeping.
The FreeBSD kernel is exempt from the unix ownership wars and it brings the most reliable filesystem out
there (UFS2), advance sound and other impressive solutions.

It may not have the drivers that Linux offers, but hey .... 8)

Don't recall whether fbsd has Linux emulation-- for those "cross-platform, viewable on any computer format"s that require either OS X, Windows, or quite lately, Linux.

Of course, what's really needed are new things for the folks who've been bringing us VL to do  ::)

*sigh*
