XFCE 4-10 plugins?
« on: June 02, 2012, 06:35:28 am »

Just wondering now that 4-10 has been out for some time now when will all the 4.8 plugins be moved over to 4-10?  I'm using 4-10 because of the single click environment, but lost ALL the plugins. I've been watching and updating gslapt regularly and I'm "(ONLY)" using stable source (packages, extra and patches for 7.0 gold).

Which plugins are you after in particular.
A number of plugins are  already in testing.  Just waiting to get some feed back before moving to extra.

Ok, looks like orang needs to be rebuilt against 4.10.

Just started testing the apps, (Orage, midori, xfburn, etc.)
For my testing Orang works as a stand alone app in xfce4-4.10 but see not it does not work from the panel, when it is choosen as plugin.
Agree with you though.  It is my preferred panel clock, as well.  See if I can get it going.

There is still a bit of work to be done on xfce4-4.10.  Not even the folks at xfce.org have got all there apps and plugins tested against the new xfce-4.10.  In some cases we have had to come up with our own patches to get them working.

Thanks for testing and letting us know what needs to be worked on.

OK, try orage 4.8.3.

It is in the testing repo. Let me know if this works for you.

Installed orage 4.8.3 from testing. I agree with you also at this time this plugin is a stand alone and still is not working from panel when you click on the time. Must select app once installed from settings in the main menu to open, then it will remain in panel until a reboot.

I just built orage 4.8.3 last night against xfce4-4.10.  If you have that one installed then also right click panel and choose "Orage Panel Clock" from the "Add New Items" list.
A new clock should appear in the panel that gives you a pop up calendar and the ability to control orage.

Let me know if it works for you.

PS.  Let me know of others.  When I get everything working with XFCE4-4.10 that we can, then I will re-write the meta to intall all upgraded plugins and apps when selected,
