(Solved) 25 seconds to open Thunar on first boot
« on: June 11, 2012, 03:59:36 pm »

weird issue. when I first boot the Vector guest. If I try to open Thunar it takes 25 seconds to open, plus, another copy opens 25 seconds later. after that, everything is normal. opens right away and no extra copy.

edit: It was because I had the shared folder set to automount. sheesh.

This is a bug in Xfce4-4.8.0.  Since Thunar has networking enabled at first boot it makes all it's connections, which is what takes the time.

See here in the how to section for a fix

Another fix is to upgrade to xfce4.10 which is in the repos, but be warned not all apps and plugins that depend o. An xfce base have been re written to work with the new xfce4.10 yet.

okay thanks. I don't have the issue since I unmarked the shared folder to automount but it's a good tip none the less. :)
