Hello,

I have installed both VL7 Gold and VL7 STD Live two times each and encounter the same problem.  The login screen does not accept my keyboard input.  For both versions I have tried re-installing with either a USB Keyboard  or a PS2 keyboard attached. Both keyboards navigate the installation screens but I cannot log in to the VEctor linux log in screen..  I can't CTRL+ALT delete or backspace and have to reset the computer.  I checked BIOS settings to make sure the usb keyboard setting wasn't hanging things up and either setting yields no solution.  I tried different keyboard settings (104 key to  105 key keyboard)  during install and yielded no results.

Another oddity, on the STD Live install,  the text labels that print to the screen only display what appears to be bounding boxes for the font text that normally says "Password".

I had VL7 Gold successfully installed on the same hardware at a previous time and everything worked fine. I am using a Foxconn p4m800p7ma-rs2h with a pentium D and 2 gigs of ram.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this problem or have a solution to the same?

Try booting into TUI once before rebooting into the GUI login.

SOLVED

I removed the IDE disk from the controller and added SATA disk. I installed VL7 SOHO with no problems.  The SATA disk was my original configuration and oddly enough switching back to it fixed all the oddities.
