New to Vector. Love the GUI installer, the sleek minimal DE and the resources to control a DeLorean through time ( I hope)

( speaking of which, you can rent a DeLorean Back to the Future Time Machine here: http://timemachinerental.com/ LOL I found this while spell checking that name on Google.)

I was pleased to see Vector had a couple of GUI based software managers. A Must for me because I refuse to use the Terminal only in extreme emergencies. This may be one of them. My first post will be on why Vector cant see my wired network. But I came for the idea that you use the least resources possible and therefore will have more left over for your power hungry apps. I'm looking to use Vector for video editing if I can find something better than Cheese.

I'm glad you like the OS at first glance.  I hope you're willing to work with the command line, because to be honest, sometimes I think GUI's should be outlawed

With that said, Lets get your hands dirty... fire up that terminal application you dont like and issue the command

I would have answered you earlier but I made a post about it in the hardware section. I didn't want to spam the intro thread with a problem that could be in a better sub forum.

 That thread is here http://forum.vectorlinux.com/index.php?topic=16445.0 And yes, i'll use the terminal to get passed my trouble spots. I have posted the lspci and lsmod outputs.

 Hopefully most of my stuff can be downloaded by repos and i'll not have to muck about in the Terminal too much.
