Cool Vector Linux 7 Easter Egg - The Arch Build System
« on: July 25, 2012, 03:26:51 pm »

Just came across this great video. It seems the Vector Devs has kept a copy of the  Arch Build System tucked away in Vector that's usable for finding and installing thousands of apps that may not be present in Gslapt.

Check it out.

I'm sure this is really no "secret" just something that's little known. I think it's really neat when software devs do stuff like this.

Warning: Not for Noobs ( that includes me LOL) The video tells of the troubles you may run into due to the Arch and Vector naming systems being different. You could screw up your OS if you do it wrong. Pay close attention to the video and follow these instructions for using the  Arch Build System on Vector exactly.

( I searched and didn't find a thread on this. Apologies if it's already been posted. Posted it here because I didn't know where it would fit best.)
