Install falls at first hurdle
« on: August 01, 2012, 05:19:56 am »

I've used the live version for a while and decided to install on a laptop I am not otherwise using. It has Fedora on it. Downloaded the Standard ISO VL7.0-STD-GOLD.iso and used UNetbootin to create a bootable usb drive - PC BIOS already set to boot from that. Boots, gets to a prompt, then gives the message "Could not find ramdisk image: /isolinux/init.gz". A search for that message found this forum. In that case the user had burned to a CD and I could not understand the final answer, so I thought I'd try again.

There is a search button in this forum. When you
have questions give that a shot.

Your answer is:

Rename isolinux/init.lz to isolinux/init.gz in the usb, Unetbootin expects gzip but we use lzma.
