Missing /usr/sbin/mount.cifs
« on: August 07, 2012, 10:26:07 am »

A few days ago I installed VL7.0-GOLD on an old (Intel Clarion M, 512MB memory) system. After installing, I mounted a Windows share from my local network with no problem. Later I ran gslapt and updated everything. After the update was finished, I rebooted and found that a mount -t cifs would no longer work, and that the mount.cifs file was missing.

So, my question is: Where can I find that file? (It's supposed to be in the kernel, but I cant figure out how to reinstall/upgrade the kernel.)

There have been some changes to samba lately which caused some problems. As a quick and dirty fix you can try this package: http://slackware.osuosl.org/slackware-current/slackware/n/cifs-utils-5.5-i486-2.txz

;D Thanks. I downloaded that file, did an instalpkg and my cifs mounts are now working.
