Hello. I posted earlier about troubles with Plasma, but now have given up
on that because I'm seeing similar issues cropping up here and there
with that desktop. I'm using XFCE and it's fine because I can add anything
to it I want as far as eye candy etc.
One question: this is a 64 bit machine, an HP Pavilion m7. Some packages
install but won't run, and I'm assuming it may be because of a conflict with
the non-32 bit chip. Can that be? Examples are supertux (the latest version
provided by the VL repositories), supertuxkart, xboard (gnuchess) and a
few others that evade my recollection.

They just won't start, via command line or gui. No panel notification or
anything.
Thoughts?

[edit]: re-reading my post I see that I left out that the VL version I'm running
is VL 64 bit.
