Three X sessions on one computer [SOLVED]
« on: May 08, 2013, 03:26:28 pm »
The kind of thing X was actually intended for in the first place, but how to do it?

If I have:
1 Computer
3 Displays
3 Keyboards
3 Pointing Devices

Is it possible for 3 different users, each with their own $HOME, to log in to 3 different X sessions on this one machine? Where do I begin?

HTH? Indeed it does. Thank you, bigpaws.
I'd forgotten that there would be extra adapters needed, as well as displays.

As many adapters include two display outputs, I'm hoping to cut the number of needed adapters in half. If you know how this is done, please do tag on; but for now, I'm marking this one solved.

The problem would be video acceleration. For each card
there would on ly be one instance of acceleration. The other
output would work as a simple display. You would assign the
mouse, and kb to the appropriate screen.
