Hi all
I want to transfer photos from an old mobile phone (Nokia 2630) to my
deskop computer, which runs both Vector Linux gold 6 and 7 (Xfce).
Apparently, Nokia offers only the connection via bluetooth (no "official"
cable sold). I purchased a cheap dongle usb bluetooth (trendnet 107UB) and,
as usual, only the use with windows is offered

I am desperately trying to make it work under Vector Linux 7 Xfce, without
success.
Since I had doubts about the hardware compatibility, I installed Kubuntu,
and could succesfully transfer the photos in a pair of clicks: so the harware
is compatible, at least partly. But it is ridiculous to use a dedicated partition
just for that.
As a transition attempt, I installed VL7.0 SOHO, since it runs with KDE and
is more similar to Kubuntu than the Xfce versions of Vector. I could not even
obtain a bluetooth icon somewhere on the screen (as with Kubuntu) and did not
know what to do. Moreover, my goal is to have bluetooth on Xfce: I have an old
hardware upon which KDE is unbearably slow.
The only recent doc I found with some clues (thanks pierce.jason) is at:
http://forum.vectorlinux.com/index.php?topic=15712in which is told to install the kernel again (wow ! this is for specialists), but the doc
stopped before success was reported.
Did somebody succesfully make run bluetooth on VL7.0 Xfce ? or even VL6.0 Xfce ?
and if yes, how ?
