Can anyone recommend a TV tuner that will work with Vector Linux 7.0? What I want to do is connect a TV antenna and a VCR into it so that I can watch/record TV stations and/or videotapes.

Thanks in advance.

I was asking about TV tuner cards...NOT TV tuner software.

I think that hauppauge or wintv cards have good linux support and perhaps the all in wonder card is worth looking at, here are a couple of links that may help.

Sorry, but the links you gave are either not very up to date, or they don't give enough information to allow me to do what I want (I am looking for a tuner that will allow me to connect both a TV antenna AND a VCR into it).

sorry...my wintv card only has coaxil (antenna) and rca input (vcr) plus sound input used for recording video tape to dvd and watching tv.and would require software such as mythtv noted above. this technology is rather dated, thus the dated links. best of luck.
cheers

Is there anyone out there that DOES have any up to date information about the type of tuner that I'm looking for?

I see that you have asked this question in at least 8
different posts.

Using a different post is not going to change the answers.

So here is the answer again.

Here is one resource:
http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/faq/support_faq_linux.html'

I have a Hauppage 1600 running fine for me.

Thank you! I'll give it a try. But I wasn't really hoping to "change" the answer, I was just hoping to get accurate and up-to-date information on something that I could actually use. UNFORTUNATELY, however, the sub link for the driver file in the link that you shared (=http://=http://www.linuxtv.org/hg/~hverkuil/cx18) leads to what I found out are corrupted files (I found that out when I tried to extract them), and the firmware link (http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/install_cd/hauppauge_cd_3.4d1.zip) results in a message saying "NOT FOUND". And before I forget, could you recommend any video recording software (or plugins, if possible) that is easier to install and use than MythTV, preferably one which would allow me to schedule video or TV recordings in advance?

Sorry if I seem to ne a bit egotistical (again), but this information needs to be corrected

No - but I DO expect to be provided with information that will get me to the file that I'm trying to find

And yes, I googled for the file, and was directed to everything EXCEPT the file that I'm trying to find (the cnet link has me downloading a EXE file - not a ZIP file).

So where can I find that ZIP file I'm looking for?

It is the first entry.
