I think k9copy, which was already mentioned previously is the better pick for ease of use. Though many of the others seem rather simple as well.
The VectorLinux community, nor the Developers are responsible for teaching you how to use these applications or "rip" a dvd. Each application has it's own web sight and documentation and probably a bit more. If that is not enough, there are TONS of other web sites out there that do provide such information.
If an application does not work as it is intended to, please feel free to report it here on the forums for the packagers and developers to take a look at. If you're looking to be schooled on how to rip a DVD or any other medium, maybe the lounge is a good place to try your luck, or some other web sites.
This thread has offered many good replies with information which requires you to read in some cases. Go read!
