Great! I don't much like the ekiga now in the repositories as it is hard for me to figure out how to find someone I want to call (I use it mostly as a substitute for a cell phone, which I do not have). I hope 4.0 has fixed this problem.

Sorry for taking so long to reply you but I am facing problem building ekiga-4.0.0 on VL7 due to libnotify problem. It seem ekiga-4.0.0 need libnotify-0.7.x that need gtk+3. I need more time to test gtk+3 on VL7. But I do build ekiga-3.3.2 for VL7. It should be in the testing repo soon. Test it and let us know how it go.
PS: I will continue to test ekiga-4.0.0, once I got any update I will let u know.

I happened to see ekiga 3.32 in testing repository tonight. Not yet announced so perhaps it is not ready. Anyway, I downloaded it and it seemed to install but nothing happens when I click on ekiga icon in menu.

running from terminal didn't work.
So I rebooted and first thing loaded ekiga 3.32 and it worked. Then loaded rest of my programs and GUI turned into grey blank square. Quit ekiga and restarted it and now GUI seems fine. Help file is not available. I have used it to make several calls and seems to work fine.
I will report if need be after using it some more.

So ekiga causing some other GUI problem?
For the help files to work in ekiga, I think you need to install yelp which properly need gtk+3...

Not sure. I know libreoffice would not load after I loaded ekiga. Had to reboot. Who knows. I will continue to report if I use ekiga some more. Apparently I must load either evolution or kdeaddressbook to use it effectively.
