Trouble opening .wma file on CDROM
« on: January 31, 2013, 10:13:35 am »
The other day we received a cdrom from the court, containing an audio file in .wma format.  The name of the file began with ccrom....

I put it in my VL 7 machine and it would not read it or even recognize that I had put the cdrom into my machine.  It ground a bit, but nothing came up.  So I tried another VL 7 machine in the office.  Same thing:  grinding sound, but nothing.

I then put the CD into a mint machine and the file showed.  I was able to copy it to the hard drive on that machine, upload it to google drive.  The mint machine operator then shareed it with me, and only then could I use the wma file on my VL machine.

Anyone know why VL 7 would not recognize the cdrom, while the mint machine did?  I have not had trouble reading cdroms before.

Are you sure your CD drive recognizes WMA format?
