Small victory to report:  Grin

An expensive wireless router started getting flaky, with the result that it became unreliable for wifi use.
However, the ethernet ports were fine.
I only needed the switching capability, not the routing.
Replacing the factory image with DD-WRT allowed me to make the WAN port a regular networking port.
Now I have a fancy 5-port gigabit switch with all kinds of lights!
