B0.29-64bit: No problems in Virtualbox.
On real hardware; Core 2 Duo 1.8, 2G RAM, Intel video, PS/2 kb+mouse, install from USB stick created with Unetbootin:
Installer stopped at boot loader selection. When clicking "Next", the button grayed out but nothing happened, nor would it respond to further inputs. Killed the process and restarted vinstall from terminal. Error message showed that "SOURCE" was not mounted. Killed and restarted installer, then manually mounted SOURCE before clicking "Next". This time it copied all files to hard drive. Boot loader failed to install, but LILO from previous install still worked. Alas, as so many times before, reboot brought up a machine where X did not respond to inputs. Ctrl+Alt+SysReq+r e i s u b reboot, choose TUI and I have mouse and keyboard, but no network. Use startx and system becomes unresponsive.

B0.29-32bit: No problems in Virtualbox.
Real hardware: Pretty much same as above, except GRUB did install. Upon reboot, I get kernel panic and boot stops on both TUI and GUI.

Interesting.. running B0.30 in VB: Both 32 bit and 64 bit show one less processor than what I give the vm.
/proc/cpuinfo starts on processor #1
If I drop the number of allocated processors to just one, cpuinfo starts with processor #0.

Nice bootsplashes!  Grin  I almost missed that, since I usually hit F2 to see what is going on.

B0.33 64-bit in vm:

I notice that "plymouthd" is the top CPU user on an idling system. Isn't it supposed to unload when X starts?

Websearch on "plymouthd" turned up much of the same. This link seemed pretty helpful: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1526436

Another Ubuntu thread here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Plymouth
If you scroll down about a page there are some "Quick Facts", including:
"plymouthd is stopped at the point the Display Manager is starting"

It's not like it consumes a whole lot, about 2% on a quad core i7, but still; what do I get in return for that?

Seeing the same behavior in standalone mode. htop shows 3 processors when it should show 4.

What printer are you trying to use?

I've managed to get my Canon printer to be seen, but I'm still working on getting the Canon filter to build properly.

It is an Epson LQ-300 24 pin impact printer. Cups does not see it so I enter the Uri with that printer program.
Cups does then recognize it yet it will not print citing filter problem.

Actually the last VL in which cups did find this printer was version 4.8.  I then kept the configuration files and
copied then to the next version.  That worked until cups changed things and I have to keep working with
cups-1.4.6 in order to use this printer. That is true for other linux distros as well.

Pita

Did you see this:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3176164?start=0&tstart=0

What I get from that link is that Apple/cups does not want to or is not
able to  support Epson impact printers.

B0.33 on real hardware; Intel E2160 1.8 GHz, 2G RAM, Intel video, install from USB stick created with Unetbootin:

Both versions:
Had to press "Space" or wait 30 seconds to continue because of unknown video mode.
Fully automatic install without any errors.
Reboot gave kernel panic. Unable to find "sdb". Plugged USB stick back in and boot worked. So.. with USB stick inserted, it becomes sda and hdd gets sdb. Remove stick and hdd becomes sda, confusing boot loader.

Booting to working system:
No real boot splash, just a jumble of text and horisontal bars.
USB keyboard and mouse work as they should.
The Desktop folder on the Desktop is still there.
Only one of two CPU's showing.
Applications look .. "ugly".. like an old GTK theme. Probably video mode?
32-bit had problems with the wired NIC, repeatedly showing spinning circles and the "Disconnected" message.

Here is output of /proc/cpuinfo and lspci from 32-bit version:

On 32-bit, second (or third) boot does give me a beautiful bootsplash with little points of light floating around. Then it drops me to text mode as X refuses to load. Running vxconf gives me a long string of errors and an xorg.conf with garbage in it.

Gonna give 64-bit another run and see how it behaves.
EDIT: Same thing with vlocity. First boot no splash but working X. Second boot working splash but no X.
