[ SOLVED ] Missing dependency?
« on: April 15, 2013, 04:32:43 pm »

I am about to try to install DVDStyler version 2.4.3, and according to the documentation that came with it, it requires cdrtools 2.01 or greater, and as of right now I don't see it in the repositories? Could I have been looking in the wrong place for it, or is it just not in the repositories?

VL uses cdrkit, not cdrtools. You'll have to build cdrtools first.

Are you sure it needs cdrtools? cdrkit should be a direct replacement for cdrtools.

That's what it says in the documentation that comes with it.

Do the utilities' names in cdrkit still differ from those in cdrtools?
Now that the controversy has been proven groundless and those responsible have been canned (search on Debian), we should either switch back to cdrtools or provide both in base.

I can't find any sign of activity on cdrkit for quite a while. So saith alioth.debian.org.

@Locator: Could you please change the subject of the original post to reflect a request for cdrtools? Thanks.

There's an old SlackBuild in the VL 5.9 sources, and linux info on the cdrtools site. Wish I had time.

I almost forgot to mention this, but I discovered that vpackager allows me to install packages that have a ".bz2" extension, so I was able to get the latest DVDStyler installed to my system. ;D.
