Ranking on distrowatch, I think. It's 69 today.

Up on release, then slide down as more people who want it, have it. Then next release, up again.

We once got into the top 10 but have been slowly sliding down the rankings, those that tend to be higher are those that release more often and get more attention.

Those numbers can be easily altered.  It's not hard to configure a bot to 'click' on a link so that the counter keeps counting hits.  That being said, I don't believe those numbers to be accurate or take them that seriously.

There is not much to scratch about, this old way of Linux really doesn't have much of a following any longer. Although not a bad thing just shows the advancement since this distro base. Vector seems to be held together by the glue in this forum. Very nice to see, just don't get stuck in time.

That the masses are too ignorant to appreciate a fine wine or Byron's The Dream, does not detract from the wine or The Dream.  VL 7 is electronic poetry of the first order.  It is one beautiful piece of work.  As my long deceased friend, Ed Poe said once in his book of Criticism:

Quote
I have sometimes amused myself by endeavoring to fancy what would be the fate of an individual gifted, or rather accursed, with an intellect very far superior to that of his race.  Of course, he would be conscious of his superiority; nor could he (if otherwise constituted as a man is) help manifesting his consciousness.  Thus he would make himself enemies at all points.  And since his opinions and speculations would widely differ from those of all mankind-that he would be considered a madman, is evident.  How horribly painful such a condition! Hell could invent no greater torture than of being charged with abnormal weakness on account of being abnormally strong.

What advancement? If you're speaking of Ubuntu and their god awful UI, they can have it.

Nowhere in my comments did I say I use ubuntu. To assume that I use ubuntu you are wrong. I use straight Debian. I tinker with other distributions on a second machine as I come across them.  I can understand you reaction to there UI. There is great division among ones preferences. Some are quite resistant to change. As far as advancement? lets use your own promotional website. " VectorLinux 7.0 Standard Edition

The final release of VectorLinux 7.0 (code name 'GG') is now available. This release is the result of nearly two years of blood sweet and tears since the very successful release of VectorLinux 6.0. VectorLinux is the fastest Linux desktop in it's class bar none. We have exceeded our original goals of VectorLinux 7 and produced a beautiful, full featured stable desktop that is fun, fast and efficient. " Do you not believe this is a advancement from your 6.0 release, or your previous versions?.  I would say someone thinks it is from this statement and is very proud of it.

A man who professed to be wise in the site of one, but yet a fool. Ed Poe, a visionary, one who brought nothing into this world and took nothing with him. He only left his opinions on paper.

And, perhaps, a couple of other things, such as the Baltimore Ravens and "Annabel Lee."
