ok, cool. thanks. I will look at that. so I uninstalled some stuff, which I think included the session manager. now im logging into vector.linux.net, or something. anyway, its commandline driven and a twm? interface. do you know how I might be able to to connect to the internet in this state without reinstalling? should I start a new thread?

I found how to change the window manager, got into icewm, and can connect to internet. so its all good now. I will google how to do it with twm though, thanks fer read'in.
