That's my story and I'm stuck with it.

I've been warned never to mention the subject of numlockx.  I say warned because I've searced the forum for information that might help me in my quest to have numlock activate upon bootup, and, in my research,  I've discovered several old VL salts are thoughly fed up too the gunnals with such a discussion.  However, I think I have information that may make a reasonable HOWTOO! - should dare too :-)

Please!  I'm fed up with Linux turning it back off after the BIOS has turned it on.

Because you operate VL with at least 2 or 3 DE/WM environments, if you can find a way to have the config
A) survive an init 4, init 2, init4 switch
B) apply to all the DE's, WM's, and text mode the same way
C) be transparent
D) besides "C", be easy to toggle
you're ideal for this idea.

I beg your pardon! :-)

It really toque's me when I boot up to watch the numlock light come on, just long enough, to make my heart skip a beat and then turn off.  Who is that grimlyn in the box that plays with the on/off switch?  :-(

I'll go back to search and find it, and then post it.

Thanks,

This forum follows the credence of there are no stupid questions.

There have been questions in which a simple google search would
have reached decent results and responses been terse. I am
guilty of some responses like that. However that type of response
from anyone here is rare.

Thank you bigpaws,

I've thought a lot about my first post and I don't want to leave the suggestion that I believe any VL member "salty or not" would ever discourage technical input.  Frankly,  I was simply trying for a little humour.  In the future:  Just the facts mam  Wink
