From untested:
Quote
c8f355ca0a0c6ae1f6ef2dee6af679bc  VL64-7.1-STD-B1.iso

From my VL 7.1 folder:
Quote
65c1a038e982b016d9804b26fa4353b8  VL64-7.1-STD-B1.iso

So, though I don't understand this md5sum business, as Vincent2 suggests, data is apparently corrupted.  However, I see no need to download it again.  I have done so twice without success.

Downloaded VL64-7.1-STD-B1.iso and got the same md5sum as sledgehammer.
Downloaded VL64-7.1-STD-B0.51toB1.delta and applied it to B0.51. Different result, it matches the official posted md5sum.
Does look like the B1 ISO file is corrupt.  Sad

I haven't downloaded VL64-B1 but just by looking at it it's suspiciously small - just 487MB when all the other betas are around the 695 MB mark.

For some reason the 64bit ISO never finished upoading to the untested repo. you can either update from the delta or grab the full B1 iso from here: http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/VL64-7.1/iso-release/VL64-7.1-STD-B1.iso

I loaded the full B1 and it loads and works fine, so far (I am writing this on it), except that I can't get the wireless to work.   I downloaded the latest broadcom file from gslapt which didn't help, nor did downgrading to an older broadcom-sta.  Nor did sourceforge's broadcom for slackware 13.37.

lspci shows:

B1

Made an install from DVD. Smooth to the end. Booted from USB stick
made wih pkgtool which I have come to like. No lilo or grub needed.

For a quick look, sound and Int. con. works. Played only one solitaire game.

More later.

Awesome. That worked.

Looks like the CPU going MIA issue has been resolved as well.  Grin

Yesterday, I said:

I meant "Nor did slackbuild's broadcom for slackware 13.37."

I will give B1 a pretty good workout today.

VL7.1 B1 32bit

installed via dvd-rw, gui installer with enter, advanced, existing, no issues

no splash option check box..nice

wireless connection and enable wireless toggle no issues

screensaver does not engage while playing dvd..nice

xfdesktop updated..nice

added xfce timer plugin..nice to have

root folder still on panel but volume added..nice

just observations:

firewall is not enabled by default, should it be?

browse removable media when inserted is not default, should it be?

as previously noted epdf does not show images but evince2 works fine should evince replace epdf?

Gmplayer stop button- when playing audio cd pressing stop plays the playing track from the beginning and grays out options except play, which will pause when pressed and make- previous, play, stop and next available again.
plays other media fine so far

umplayer still has a nag screen with each open but plays sample media fine

gnubg and xmahjongg from the repository have no menu icons,
no issues with pkg manager search or installs

looking good

VL7.1 B1 32bit

-- Claws-mail still hangs on Configuration>Preferences for current account>OK/Cancel/Accept....Hang
This is unique to VL7.1 distro.

-- My Epson-24pin printer is not found.  Sad
A few days ago I installed slackware-14.1 and this printer is found and printing.

--
Code:
   $ gnome-mplayer

(gnome-mplayer:3369): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: No GSettings schemas are installed on the system
Trace/breakpoint trap

--
Code:
$ brasero

(brasero:3553): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: No GSettings schemas are installed on the system
Trace/breakpoint trap

-- vcpufreq  not working

That's all for now.  Smiley

lyx 2.06, being the latest stable version (and in the 7.1 repository) does not seem to work right.  Gives a "bug" error when trying to change margins or deal with multiple indexes.  Same version of lyx is on 7.0 but without these problems.

B1, 32-bit on real hardware

Sluggishness issue is gone, both in installer and in installed system. Fairly snappy.
Password issue is gone.

Verify: screenshot works fine from menu, but locks up when run from panel.

I'm pretty sure I have answers to this, but I have a hard time concentrating when I'm being shouted at.
