See if running 'iwconfig wlan0 power off' as root helps. Verify by running 'iwconfig 2>/dev/null | grep "Power Management"' a few times some minutes apart to make sure something's not changing it back. Maybe the router is dropping you when going idle cuts your power.

Did you have problems before the router was changed?

Yes, and at first I thought it was the router doing it, but after the router was replaced, I was STILL being kicked off the network :(.

Take a look at /var/log/wicd/wicd.log
You may need to be root to view it.

I checked that file, but unfortunately I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for, or even what to do if I find whatever it is that I'm supposed to be looking for, so any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
