I'm hoping to buy it and immediately throw VL 7.0 on it.  I shouldn't have any data to worry about. Tongue

No mouse support will be a little rough, but I can't stand touchpads anyway.  I just need it to do my schoolwork/browse/etc.

Looking forward to reading the details as you proceed. Curious to know if you can boot live usb and then reboot chrome. but if you do not play with that first, will be interested in the install process and tweaks.  Smiley

I suggest you use it for a few days first.  The chrome os is pretty slick in its limited areas of expertise.  But, for example, it won't shutdown at a particular set time, won't run lyx, dosemu etc.

I will probably dedicate a topic to it and then write up some how-tos when I am finished (and make the process more understandable for people)

I don't inherently hate Chrome OS, I am just trying to move away from gmail/gdocs/etc.
