Getting Bluetooth to run in VL 7.1 STD
« on: June 22, 2015, 03:32:21 pm »
It's quite simple with a few easy steps.

At the end of rc.local (remember, you must be root to edit), add:
/usr/sbin/bluetoothd &

In /etc/udev/rules.d create a rules file that contains the following (I named mine 50-bluetooth.rules). Again, make sure you're root.:

# Set bluetooth power up
ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="hci[0-9]*", RUN+="/usr/bin/hciconfig %k up"
ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="hci[0-9]*", RUN+="/usr/bin/hciconfig %k piscan"
ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="hci[0-9]*", RUN+="/usr/bin/hciconfig %k iscan"

Now, you need to start obexd as a user. If you're using XFCE, the easiest way to do this is go to the Session and Startup settings. Add the following to your application auto start list:

/usr/libexec/bluetooth/obexd &

Once all that is done, install blueman from the repo and you're good to go!

Enjoy!
